They say it's all about the dress.... CHECK!!

Location Location Location... CHECK!!

We are having a very small ceremony with our immediate family and some of our closest friends at Makena Cove, Maui on the beach. In lieu of a reception that day, we are going to a luau!

Our next ten days in Maui are sure to be filled with lots of fun and adventure as we explore... we may even hop over to another island in search of MAGMA

(As told by Jennifer) It is not uncommon for Alexa and Olan to surprise one another with dates, activities or special gifts. So as this particular day was approaching, it was not out of the ordinary for Olan to tell Alexa to dress warm, but pretty and bring an overnight bag for his surprise date. It was November in Alaska and we had just attempted to entice them to join us on a winter backpacking/camping trip. I know Alexa was confused as to how to dress and what to bring since she called to ask me! 

At this point I already knew about the upcoming proposal since Olan had honored us by asking for her hand in marriage and sharing his plan for the proposal with us. He chartered a helicopter to fly them out to, and land on Knik Glacier just before sunset. As Alexa was exploring the glacier, he got down on one knee and proposed... of course she said YES!!! They then flew back to Anchorage where he had a limo waiting to take them to one of their favorite restaurants downtown. After a romantic dinner, he had a horse drawn carriage take them to the Sheraton where chocolate covered strawberries and champange awaited.
